A 23 -Year old Kara Vandereyk was arrested earlier today after local Las Vegas authorities caught her having sex with a dog, a pit bull to be exact, in public in her backyard (located at the 300 block of N. 16th Street near Bonanza Road and Bruce Street) where her neighbors could see the shocking bestiality.

Just before Kara Vandereyk was arrested for public sex with the dog, she reportedly stood up, greeting the local police officers with a simple "Hi" was still engaging sexually with the pit bull. The Las Vegas woman was apparently either under the influence of powerful drugs or mentally ill according to the LVMPD report, Fox reported.

"I'm bipolar," Kara Vandereyk reportedly told police while being arrested. She also said she was taking prescription drugs to treat her condition, though it's unclear if she was on the medication was she was found having sex with the dog.

"Police said she could not identify herself and was unable to answer questions about the current date or name of the President of the United States," describing the series of events that led to Kara Vandereyk for sleeping with a dog.

Kara Vandereyk was arrested for having sex with the dog and has been charged with open and gross lewdness. Meanwhile, the pit bull has reportedly been put under the custody of local Animal Control.

In the moments leading up to the arrest, Kara Vandereyk was "naked and on the ground," according to the police report, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal. Police brought the woman a blanket to cover herself while separating her from the dog.

The Journal also reported that Kara Vandereyk's arrest occurred after a another woman saw her having sex with the dog at around 11 a.m.

"Unfortunately, a series of news reports over the past year show that this crime [having sex with dogs in public] isn't as rare as it should be," notes the Huffington Post.

Last month a 24-year old woman living in Delaware was arrested for having sex with a dog while her boyfriend photographed it. She was charged with bestiality and second-degree conspiracy.

And last year an 20-year old woman was arrested for having sex with two dogs. She was caught by the police after her boyfriend at the time alerted the authorities.

This isn't the first time Kara Vandereyk was arrested in recent memory. Last year she arrested in Utah for unspecified crimes in 2012. Gawker notes that "Vandereyk was looking much better just six months ago," pointing to her previous mugshot.

The story of Kara Vandereyk for having sex with a dog quickly went viral online, with reactions on Twitter quickly piling up:
